Before the beginning — the Word with God
Long before there was earth or sky, there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God — of God’s very essence. Through Him all things were made. The Word was eternally with God, loved by the Father before the world began, delighting perfectly in His will.
(John 1:1-3; John 17:24)
Through Him, all was created
When time began, God’s purpose unfolded through the Word. By Him all things were created — things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. From distant galaxies to seeds on earth, life sprang forth by the Father’s command, carried out through His Word.
(Colossians 1:16)
The fall & the promise of a Redeemer
Humanity was deceived. In the garden that knew only closeness with God, the first people chose a lie over truth. Sin entered, and with it came shame and separation. But God did not abandon His creation. He spoke the first promise of rescue: a coming Seed who would crush the serpent’s head.
(Genesis 3:15)
Foreshadowed through history
Throughout generations, God gave glimpses of the One to come. The Passover lamb in Egypt pointed ahead to Christ. The rock struck in the wilderness pointed to Him. The prophets declared: 'Unto us a child is born… a Son is given.' 'He was pierced for our transgressions.'
(Exodus 12; 1 Corinthians 5:7; Exodus 17; 1 Corinthians 10:4; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 53:5)
The Word became flesh — Jesus, the Son sent in love
When the right time came, the Word took on flesh and lived among us. Born of a woman, under the law, He was revealed to us as Jesus — the Son of God. Jesus walked the roads, healed the sick, revealed the Father’s heart, and obeyed fully. He said, 'I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent Me commanded Me.' For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son — not to condemn, but to save. Jesus said, 'Not My will, but Yours be done,' and humbled Himself to death on a cross.
(Galatians 4:4; John 1:14; John 12:49; John 3:16-17; Luke 22:42; Philippians 2:8)
God raised Him & gave Him all authority
God raised Jesus from the dead, breaking the power of death forever. Jesus was glorified and returned to the Father with the glory He had before the world began. Seated at God's right hand, all authority in heaven and on earth was given to Him.
(John 17:5; Ephesians 1:20-21; Matthew 28:18)
He prepares a place & gives us the Spirit
Jesus promised, 'I will not leave you as orphans.' The Father sent the Helper, the Spirit of truth, to teach and guide us. Meanwhile, Jesus prepares a place for us and waits until the Father says, 'Now, go bring them home.' Then He will come again to gather those who belong to Him.
(John 14:18; John 14:26; John 14:2-3; Matthew 24:36)
The Lamb & the returning King
In Revelation, we see Jesus as the Lamb who was slain, alive and worshiped in heaven. One day He will return as King of kings, defeating all evil and making all things new.
(Revelation 5:12; Revelation 19:16)
The Son hands the kingdom to the Father
Then comes the end, when Jesus hands the kingdom back to God the Father, so that God may be all in all. This is the Father’s great plan, carried out through His Son, so that all things might be restored under Him.
(1 Corinthians 15:24-28)
